Malavath Purna is the youngest female climber in the world to scale Mount Everest.
She reached the summit of Everest on 25 May 2014, aged 13 years and 11 months, to become the youngest girl to make this achievement. Purva belongs to Nizamabad, Telangana, born into a poor family and her parents are farm labourers.

She trekked to mountains of Ladakh and Darjeeling, as a part of her preparations to climb Mount Everest. She was accompanied by 18 year old Sandhana Palli Anand Kumar for this adventurous venture and both were rewarded by the state government.
Both the kids were trained by Shekhar babu, the first Indian to climb the Mount Everest alone, without any group.
She was accompanied by Sandhana Palli Anand Kumar,a Class 9th student from Khammam and both were awarded a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh by Telangana Chief Minister K.
Chandrasekhar Rao for the outstanding achievement. Same amount was given to B. Shekhar Babu of Nalgo
